Peter Nardi's STC, Sharpie Through Card, is a highly visual penetration effect that Peter Nardi developed specifically for use during his own performances. The effect is designed with practical features such as an instant reset, free card selection, and strong interaction with the audience.

A spectator freely chooses a card and signs it. Next, a regular Sharpie is used to visibly penetrate the card. Right before the eyes of the audience, the pen appears to melt through the signed playing card.

The illusion goes a step further. The spectator is allowed to pull the Sharpie out of the card themselves. Immediately afterwards, both the signed card and the Sharpie can be examined. Both turn out to be completely intact and undamaged.

For STC, there is no need to force a specific card. This keeps the card choice free and allows the card to be signed, making the effect more personal for the participant.

An important advantage for the working magician is the reset. According to the creator, as soon as the effect has been performed, STC is immediately ready for use again. This allows you to perform the routine multiple times during a performance without extensive preparation between different groups.

Visual penetration takes place visibly, without the need to hide the most important moment through concealment. This makes STC suitable for strolling, table hopping, street magic, and mix-and-mingle performances.
