Cross Fade by Kyle Purnell is a visual three-phase card routine in which a signed card slowly appears between two cards, disappears again, and eventually switches places. Includes a special handmade gimmick.
Cross Fade by Kyle Purnell is a highly visual three-phase card routine in which a signed playing card slowly appears, disappears, and ultimately causes an unexpected transposition. The changes occur deliberately slowly, allowing the audience to see the magic happen right before their eyes.
With a gentle movement of your hand, a signed card begins to appear piece by piece between two other cards. Not merely as an illusion; the card is actually situated between the two cards. Subsequently, the process is reversed, and the signed card disappears just as visually.
The card is subsequently found in an unexpected location. But the routine is not over yet. As an extra finale, the card also turns out to have magically swapped positions with the cards used for the sandwich effect.
The secret is a specially printed and handcrafted gimmick, combined with accessible card techniques. The gimmick contains no flaps, elastic, magnets, hinges, or moving parts. Nor does it make use of optical effects.
You simply add the gimmick to a standard deck of cards and are ready to perform the full main routine. No table is required, making Cross Fade excellent for close-up and walkaround magic.
Kyle Purnell teaches you the complete three-phase routine in the included instructions. Additionally, you get an extra time travel routine with just a few cards and a transparent protective sleeve. In this routine, a playing card appears to travel back in time in a very visual way.
