The Folding Key by Pete Biro and Joe Porper is a clever combination of two classic principles, Key in Bottle and Ring off Key. Joe Porper developed a special mechanism for this that approaches the traditional construction of folding coins and folding keys in a different way.

With traditional folding gimmicks, a groove may be visible around the outside. With this specially manufactured key, the working mechanism is located entirely on the inside. As a result, the characteristic visible groove is absent, and the key can be displayed and handled in a natural way.

One of the included routines uses a borrowed ring. The ring appears impossible to penetrate off a car key. After the effect, the objects used can be examined, making the illusion even more convincing.
